Shame Australia .... Shame!

I deeply saddened by current events that are under the control of the Australian authorities ..... the lack of accountability ..... justice .... fair play ..... compassion.

"The ends don't justify the means."

I'm ashamed of our politicians and of our government.  I am proud of our country and our people ..... but the people we have elected to govern us seem to unable to act as individuals .... they MUST follow the party line ..... they must be re-elected at all costs ......

It's depressing.

Imitation apology

I'm saddened by the way society seems to accept pseudo-apologies .... eg Dutton's apology yesterday .... he has not apologised for what he said .... he's just sorry that he was caught!  .... or sorry that other people were upset.

Explanation

I often have to say something .... and Naomi says "Oh no! Not that one again ..."

So I thought to myself .... "I'll create a blog where I can say what I like"

If you don't like what I say .... don't read it!

Shame

When reading of the unfolding refugee tragedy in Europe, its heartening to read of the welcome being shown by people ..... doors and homes opening to people in need.  Our friends in Europe write of their pride at how their country is reacting and pride about what is being done for the refugees.

..... and then I contrast this with the spiteful, miserly actions of the current Australian government .... and once again I am ashamed to call myself Australian.  In the same way I felt shame at the lies and deceit toward Indonesia in recent times.

When will we have Australian leadership that inspires pride in our nation.

More logic??

In tonight's news we learn that .....
1. Justice Heydon is considered to be of a higher level of intelligence because he doesn't understand how to use a computer to write his own email.
2. That he is of such a higher level of intelligence that he can assess his own behaviour and whether his behaviour would be considered to be biased be a reasonable lay person.
3. He therefore considers that being a speaker at a Liberal Party fundraising event is not a reasonable sign of bias.
4. Therefore if a lay person perceives him to be biased then that lay person is not reasonable.
5. Does it not follow then that Justice Heydon would think that if a person is able to use a computer for email then that person cannot form a reasonable opinion?

What a strange world we live in.

Logic??

I was hanging out the washing this morning and .... as I often do .... I pondered the ongoing "dispute" .... to peg or not to peg!

Our clothesline is away from strong winds .... and since people don't like peg-marks on the clothes, I always drape them on the line rather than using a peg.  In all the years I have never had any clothes fall off the line ..... and the process is so much quicker.

..... and yet I am chided for not pegging!  Where's the logic?
